The nets have arrived!
Jo Austin-Preece, from The Gunjur Project, sent us the following pictures of distribution and wrote: "Thank you to Dance2Learn for their great contribution to Alagi Bojangs mosquito net challenge.Here are pictures of them being given out to the mothers at Kullukochi Community Nursery School". It's easy to forget that life's daily problems continue when we are all so concerned about Covid-19 but, according to the World Health Organisation, an estimated 120,000 people per year get malaria in The Gambia. £5 buys a net, the price of a cheap drink. With all the Covid19 restrictions, malaria is an additional complication that Gambian people face at this challenging time. Since Dance2Learn can't get out there this year, we again teamed up with The Gunjur Project to buy 100 mosquito nets for the community at around £5.00 ($8.00) each |
